What’s the story behind your account?

Since a young age, I have been interested in interior design. One year ago, we moved into our first own apartment. Step-by-step, I was able to realize some of the interior ideas I had in mind. The idea of creating my own Instagram account came up by accident. I was always looking for inspiration on several Instagram accounts and one day it made me think about starting my own. Since then I really enjoyed uploading and being creative with my interior – that is why I continued. Now it‘s really a new hobby for me.

Your interior has a mix of old and new pieces, very nice! How do you mix old and new furniture?

Thank you so much! The mix of old and new modern elements is also part of the Scandinavian interior style, which I really like. That is also the reason why I try to keep it all very minimalistic. I only have a few old elements in my interior, but in my opinion, the old building itself makes the atmosphere so special since it was built in early 1900. I want to achieve a cozy atmosphere by keeping the focus on the old charming elements and mixing it with modern furniture.

What’s really a don’t when mixing old with new?

I think mixing old and new will never be a don‘t. As I already mentioned I really like Minimalism so therefore I would say to keep it classic with just a few elements and not overload. Less is more!

Where do you buy the old items?

Flea markets, eBay, and vintage stores are my main addresses when it comes to buying old furniture or decoration. Mostly they are still in a good condition, especially when you get them from vintage furniture stores. You will be surprised by what kind of hidden treasures you are able to find there!

Where do you find interior inspiration?

I mainly find inspiration on Pinterest, magazines and of course Instagram. My favourite accounts are @gruenderzeit_zeit, @scandinavian.interior and @tasselsandfringes – and so many more. I just love getting new inspiration!
